Enrollment Status & Minimum Hours

Important Information Concerning Pell Grant and Campus-Based Aid

Your eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant and Campus-Based Aid programs depends on your enrollment status as of the last day to add classes for each term:

2022-2023

  • Fall 2022: Friday, September 2, 2022
  • Spring 2023: Friday, January 20, 2023
  • Summer 2023: Wednesday, May 24, 2023

 

All courses for the applicable semester must be added by this date, including second and short term courses. Any courses added after this date will not be used in determining your eligibility for these programs. The Federal Pell Grant is awarded based on full time enrollment status, but will adjust for 3/4 time, 1/2 time, and less than half time enrollment.   Please refer to award information for credit hour requirements by individual award.

Notice for Graduate Students: After the residency requirement has been met (two consecutive semesters of nine hours or more),graduate students who are registered for three credit hours in any one of the following classes are considered full-time status:

a) Classes within the range of 6970-6989, 7970-7989
b) Social Work 6511, 6512, 6521 or 6522
c) Pharmacology and Toxicology 7920

This does not fulfill state residency requirements.
