Public Safety Officer Career Advancement Grant
Eligibility Requirements
- Students must be enrolled in an eligible criminal justice-related bachelor’s degree program;
- Students must complete a FAFSA form for the year of application;
- Students must be a certified peace officer currently employed by a Utah law enforcement agency;
- Be a Utah adult resident;
- Students must meet satisfactory academic progress (SAP) or have an approved SAP appeal;
- Not be a recipient of the Karen Mayne Public Safety Officer Scholarship for the same degree.
How Do I Know If I'm Eligible?
If you feel you may be eligible, complete the application annually to be considered. Due to limited funding, there is no guarantee you will receive this award every year. Please feel free to contact our office if you have any questions.
What Does the Grant Cover?
Up to resident tuition and fees, with a maximum of $5,000 per year, subject to funding. Up to four academic years (including any prior awards received under the Public Safety Officer Career Advancement Reimbursement (PSOCAR) program, which was replaced by PSOCAG).
